OEKO-TEX® ORGANIC COTTON Certification

From April 2023, OEKO-TEX will launch a new certification product ORGANICCOTTON certification, providing inspection from farm to product. Products with this label do not contain genetically modified organisms GMO, and have passed the inspection of pesticides and other harmful substances. The ORGANIC COTTON certificate is valid for one year.

OEKO-TEX ORGANIC COTTON certification applies to textiles containing at least 70% organic cotton. This certification does not apply to blends of conventional cotton and organic cotton.

Certification requirements:
>100% Organic: ORGANIC COTTON organic cotton certification and label
More than 70% organic: ORGANIC COTTON organic cotton certification and label
Less than 70% organic: STANDARD 100 certification and labeling
OEKO-TEX@ ORGANIC COTTON has strict testing standards for harmful substances and the standard catalog includes
>GMO testing of products
>Track product flow through TC transaction certificates to cover the entire supervisory
pipe chain
Important legal regulations, such as the ban on azo dyes, pentachlorophenol per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) lead, and many other hazardous chemicals that are not yet legally regulated
Various environmentally relevant substance classes
> Comply with multiple global regulations, including EU REACH Regulation Annex XIV and XVII US CPSIA Regulation (Lead) EU POP Regulation
Covers all textile-related substances in the ECHA Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern
Preconditions for granting the OEKO-TEX ORGANIC COTTON certificate and label:
All components of the product to be certified must comply with standard conditions, testing criteria and limit values
The entire chain of custody must be traceable via the OEKO-TEX trade certificate
>With quality assurance system
> OEKO-TEX institute successfully conducts on-site inspection every year
